Bare Knitwear

When Bare Knitwear’s founder Kelsey Adair connected with me the first time, I knew it right away that it would be a natural fit. Kelsey views the design and manufacturing process as collaborative and finds inspiration for Bare's heirloom knits through exploration of time-honoured manufacturing techniques. Dedicated to preserving the authentic feel of handmade knitwear, she attributes her discerning eye for textiles to the time spent working alongside world class artisans in Peru. She is proud to connect two worlds and believes that each garment tells a story of past and present. Kelsey is committed to creating authentic, long lasting knitwear with high regard to ethics and the environment.

Based on the West Coast, a collaboration on the East Coast was a great opportunity to expend the brand from coast to coast. In parallel, I was hosting our first artist in residency at the cabin, Veronique Boisvert, an abstract painter from Quebec who gets her inspiration from nature and cares about the process of making things meaningfully. We couldn’t get a perfect match. You can read the interview Kelsey led on her blog about The Parcelles’s journey from the renovations to the hosting of our first artist in residency.

“We believe in a minimal yet thoughtful approach to design; removing the un-necessary and leaving only the high quality essentials for an intentional life.”

- Kelsey
